LED Light Strand – a low line of light that marks out the space after dark

Small LED bulbs spaced along a bendable cord, made to run across a fence line, a pergola beam or a porch rail. Output stays below 60 lumens per set, which puts it closer to candlelight than to a lamp. Pick from three lengths, enough for a balcony corner or a whole patio.

Why pick a low-output strand?

A bright fixture overhead flattens an outdoor area the moment the sun is gone. A dim line strung at eye height does the opposite: it draws the edges of the space and lights faces without glare. Bulbs come with the strand, so nothing else is needed.

• Three runs: 6 m carrying 40 bulbs, 10 m with 80, or 12 m with 100.
• Dim by design: under 60 lumens per set, closer to candlelight than a floodlight.
• Bendable cord: coils around railings, branches and umbrella ribs without kinking.

Run the strand in a shallow zigzag instead of a straight line, so the bulbs end up at slightly different heights. Two loops around a rail at each turn keeps the spacing even. At the end of the season, wind it around a strip of cardboard and it will not tangle.
